In How to Read LIt. Like a Professor we learned what properties make a quest. Inigo's quest is a key part of the novel.
The Quest-er: Inigo Montoya
Reason: avenge his father's death by killing the six-fingered man
ends up on a path of self discovery when he gives up being associated with Vizzini and accompanies The Man in Black to go to the palace, where everyone's goal lies.
Trials faced: taking buttercup to the cliffs of insanity, dueling with the man in black on the cliffs (he eventually loses but his life is spared), finding Wesley when he is captured. at this trial Inigo must use the spirit of his father to guide his sword towards Westley. The last and major trial Inigo faces is the fight between him and the six fingered man. Inigo Montoya is the victor!
